Ball mill working principle

This equipment is a skeleton-type ball mill, featuring a horizontal cylindrical rotating structure driven by an external gear and equipped with two hoppers.
The workflow is as follows:
1.Primary Grinding Stage: Material is fed through the hollow shaft via a spiral feeder from the feeding device into the first hopper. This hopper is lined with stepped or corrugated liners and contains steel balls. The rotation of the cylinder generates centrifugal force, causing the steel balls to lift and then drop, subjecting the material to intense impact and grinding.
2.Secondary Grinding Stage: After initial crushing in the first hopper, the material passes through a single-layer partition plate into the second hopper. This hopper is lined with flat liners and contains steel balls, where further fine grinding of the material takes place.
3.Product Discharge: The finely ground powder material is finally discharged through the grid plate (screen plate), completing the entire grinding process.

   This equipment consists of four main sections: the feeding unit, discharging unit, rotating barrel, and drive assembly (including reducer, pinion gear, electric motor, and electrical controls).

  The hollow shaft is constructed of cast steel, and the lining plates are designed for easy removal. The rotary gear is manufactured using cast-and-hobbed processes, while the drum is lined with a durable, wear-resistant material, ensuring long service life and reliable performance. The overall operation remains stable and consistent under working conditions.

Furthermore, depending on the material properties and required discharge method, both dry and wet ball mill configurations are available.
