Fully Automatic Recessed Chamber and Membrane Filter Press

Fully automatic plate and frame chamber and membrane filter press consists of a series of membrane plates and chamber plates arranged alternately to form filter chambers. Driven by the feed pump, slurry is pumped into these chambers where solid-liquid separation occurs through the filter media (filter cloth). Once a filter cake is formed within the chambers, water (or compressed air) is injected into the membrane plates to apply additional pressure, thoroughly compacting the solid material in the filter chambers.

The key distinction between a membrane filter press and a standard chamber filter press lies in the addition of two flexible membranes on either side of the filter plate. During operation, after the filter chamber is fully filled with filter cake, the filtration process halts. A high-pressure fluid or gas is then injected behind the membranes, causing them to expand. This expansion applies uniform pressure onto the filter cake, forcing out residual liquid through the filter cloth. This secondary dewatering stage effectively reduces the moisture content of the filter cake to a lower level.
The material is pumped into sealed chambers in the filter. Under pressure, the liquid is pushed through the filter cloth and drained away. The solid material gets left behind in the chambers, building up until it forms a cake, which completes the solid-liquid separation.
